Loving Constance Page 18

“Ha!” Mama Kalanovski announced with triumph. “I’m right. You’ll see. My first time, my Joe had to butter his morning toast outside for months.”

Patience and Gracie ran to the closed bathroom door. “Connie!” they shrieked. “This is wonderful. We’re all going to be mothers together.”

In reply, Connie only moaned. Since Rand was older than she and wanted to start their family right away, she and Rand had decided to let God decide when they would be parents. Dear Lord, You couldn’t have given me a couple of months? Then she grinned, thinking of what Rand would say, what his family would say. And they’d have that free lunch on Mama Kalanovski, too—just as soon as she could keep lunch down, that is!

  Dear Reader,

This is the last of my SISTERS OF THE HEART series. Each of the three friends, Gracie, Patience and Connie, has, at the end of this book, found her true love.

No one would have put Connie and Rand together except God. Connie was just starting her life and was very idealistic, while Rand was a seasoned detective and had become cynical about life. Both of them had lingering entanglements from the past, and both had to learn to let go of these in order to move ahead—freely.

None of us can live more than one day at a time. The past is beyond our control. We can never go back and redo things. And the future holds much that we couldn’t even guess was coming. Sometimes we wish we could look forward. But fortunately, we aren’t able to do that, really a blessing.

I hope you have enjoyed this series. I look forward to hearing from you if this story has touched your heart. Please visit my Web site www.booksbylyncote.com or send mail in care of Steeple Hill Books, 233 Broadway, Suite 1001, New York, NY 10279.
